PTFE (TFE) and Kynar both are on allocation.
PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene products, PTFE (TFE) and also PVDF manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar which is mined in Mongolia and China. The world interest in this mineral has grown significantly, as well as the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance and extremely low co-efficient of friction (slick) and is used in a bunch of applications from non-stick fry griddles to ptfe tape for personal use. This particular mineral is the critical raw materials in the manufacturing of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and several refrigerants. This increasing amount of demand coupled with general shortage of raw materials has caused a dramatic price increase (almost double over the past year), shortages, and we expect both these factors to keep at it in the near future.
